Andy has recently finished a strong track season where he lowered his personal best times for both the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase. He also finished 2nd in the UK championships and world trials over 5000m, finishing just 1 second behind world 5000m champion Mo Farah. Later he stormed to victory in the World University Championships over 5000m held in Shenzhen, China.
Andy now has the European cross country championships in his sights which will be held in Slovenia in December, before travelling to Australia and the United States for a 4 month training block under the guidance of his new coach Nic Bideau (husband and ex coach to former world champion Sonia O’Sullivan). On Vernon’s return, he will be put into a carefully structured race plan to get him prepared for the Olympic Games held in our own city of London in August.
